Pastor Scholfield is a life long resident of Indiana, PA. He has been, and continues to be actively involved in the community. He is past president of the Indiana County Head Start Policy Council, past president of the Indiana County Community Action Program, past president of the Chevy Chase Community Center were he presently serves as a member of the Board of Directors. As a member of the Chevy Chase Board of Directors, Pastor Scholfield chairs the Finance Committee and the Personnel Committee with supervisory responsibility for the Center Director

Pastor Scholfield enjoyed a 30-year career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) as an administrator/manager. He retired as IUP's Director of Cash Accounting Services in July 1999 and is mentioned in a volume of the Indiana County's historical records as the first African-American to be employed in such a position at IUP. While at IUP, Pastor Scholfield also served as the Campus Minister to African American Students in Higher Education.

Pastor Scholfield has been a dedicated member of the Church of God in Christ over four decades. In 1973, he was ordained in the Church of God in Christ. He served as Assistant Pastor, Associate Minister, Secretary, Sunday School Teacher and Minister of Music at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, Indiana, Pa. For three years he was in fellowship at First Unity Church of God in Christ, Jeannette, PA where he served as Associate Minister. In September 1996, Pastor Scholfield was appointed Acting Pastor of Pilgrim Church of God in Christ, Johnstown, PA. In December 1996, he was appointed the permanent Pastor of Pilgrim Church of God in Christ.

Pastor Scholfield is actively involved in the administration of the Church of God in Christ, Inc., First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Western Pennsylvania. He serves at the pleasure of Bishop James M. Foster who has the oversight for 57 churches. At this level Pastor Scholfield functions as Budget Committee Chair, Education and Scholarship Committee Chair, Accountant for Jurisdictional Tithing Fund and Planning Committee member for the jurisdiction's Ministers and Missionaries Alliance Institute.

Pastor Scholfield is married to Barzyella (Peaches), whom he met while employed for the Department of Public Assistance in Philadelphia, PA. They have two adult children, Robert, Jr., Blairsville, PA and Rosalind Lindsay, Johnstown, PA. Pastor Scholfield and Sister Peaches are blessed to be the grandparents of Thomas Edward Lindsay, III, Joshua Brian Lindsay and Richard Lindsay.
